The New York Giants win 17-14 over the previously undefeated New England Patriots! It was an awesome game, the Giants offensive and defensive lines were amazing tonight. The issue throughout the game was that while the Giants were successful at holding the Patriots out of the red zone, but the Giants had difficult capitalizing whenever they had opportunities to score. Into the 4th quarter the game went and the Giants were down 3-7 when Eli and the team roared back to life and scored. The Patriots on the following drive immediately answered that touchdown with one of their own, they got a rhythm together and capitalized on it. Down to the 2-minute warning and with 3 timeouts left the Giants starting from the 19 yard line drove it all the way to the red zone to bring the score to 17-14. The Patriots had less than a minute and all three of their timeouts but Tom Brady’s passes weren’t connecting and then he got sacked hard. Time just ran out as the Patriots went down on a turnover. It looked like a painful upset for the Patriots, and their coach looked a bit out of it, though understandably.

The game was simply amazing, and I watched it with the roomies (exception of Matt who was in a meeting in S.F., or so he claimed, hmm!) on my sexy Samsung 32″ HDTV screen in 720p. We also had Dominos delivered, surprisingly they weren’t as busy as I thought they would be. Pfft, it was a great day overall. And for once, I didn’t think negatively of the halftime show, it was actually pretty good this year.

Apartment Life
Fall Quarter ended. The room arrangement hasn’t changed and we remain the same group. Matt continues to be Matt, Cory continues to be Cory, and Rohan is just Rohan. Nothing too notable has happened here, except: I bought me a $1k Samsung HDTV. It replaced the old tube TV that had issues with displaying colors correctly on half of the screen and would lose sound at random. Not too surprisingly I’ve been making regular runs to Hollywood Video to rent up loads of movies to watch. And as if a new TV and an endless stream of movies wasn’t enough, we also recently obtained Comcast cable. It just didn’t work out with the multiple HD antennas we tried, the reception just didn’t cut it. Also, Cory received an Xbox 360 for X-mas and the TV is never too lonely with that thing by its side. Aside no change in room arrangments, people being people, and a new TV, nothing has changed.

School Life
Fall Quarter ended. I got above average grades and surprisingly passed Japanese 4 with a B-. After self-reflecting about whether or not to continue taking Japanese I decided to drop Japanese 5. I judged that I wasn’t nor had I been keeping up with the progress of the classes due to my underdeveloped listening comprehension skills. So I decided to take a break, however, the decision to take a break wasn’t an easy one either. I don’t want to give up on Japanese nor that year I spent taking formal classes. I still have all my texts, workbooks, and whatnot from those classes. In order to supplement my lack of regular Japanese exposure I’ve gone out and purchased an audio and text pack. So far I haven’t gotten the chance to use it, I’m too busy gaming and studying for my current classes. Pfft, excuses, I know. ._.;

Besides discontinuing formal Japanese study, I also began to seriously consider changing my major. The change would be from Latin American Latino/a Studies (LALS) to Latin American Latino/a Studies (LALS) and Politics — which is known as a combined major and therefor elicits going through the declaration process over again. I’ve gotten through about 1/3 of the process before hitting a snag. An adviser I need to review and sign off on my coursework plan has been difficult to get a hold of. He’s either busy or not there during his narrow office hours time of 12-2 on Wednesday. Damn it. Well, at the least it gives me more time to contemplate my reasons and plans for this change.

Website Updates?
Huh? I have a website? Oh yeah! That one bishymishy thing I started like in 2004-2005? Hmm, yeah, I did it for the lulz.

Anyway, the reason I haven’t delivered the fabled facelift to BishyMishy.com or Suigintou.net is because I still don’t have concrete ideas for what I want them to look like. The blog that is BishyMishy and the forum that is Suigintou.net are okay for now. Suigintou.net could really use a boost, it hasn’t seen traffic in like, ever. BTW, any of your ideas for what the web site should be like are welcome. For now I’m working on the idea of re-instituting frames to the site, seriously, it’s just easier to implement at the moment. Hmm, I think I’ll actually start running with that idea. (A lightbulb appears over author’s head).

Later today after work and class, me and the roomies will head up to San Francisco to visit JapanTown. It should be fun, I want to see how much my Japanese studies have progressed since the last time I visited. Also we are not taking the 17-101 freeway routes, instead we’re taking the 1 up the rim by the Pacific Ocean till we hit San Francisco. New route and new grammar forms/vocabulary, let’s see what becomes of all this. D:

The BishyMishy blog was hereby renewed by 1and1 whom went out of there way to charge me for 6 more months without making me aware they were going to take such action. BishyMishy was going to go offline this October 27th but instead will remain because of a $25.00 charge online for 6 more months. Yay T_T.
